Creating an account
If you have never ordered from us before the first thing you will need to do is create an account by registering .
It is possible to browse the site and select items to go into the shopping basket, but you will not be able to send the order to us without creating an account.
When you register we will ask for your name, company name and address and ask you to select a username and password. When this is done
the registration is automatically sent to us, the system will then log you on to your account and you can start to create an order.
The reason for this is that because we know how busy it can be running your
business, you may not always have the time to create and complete a sometimes large
order in one session. So if you log in to your account and start to create and order we can track what you have already placed in
your basket, these items are then assigned to your account number. If for some reason you have to log out and return later, then by logging back into your account you can then access the items already in your basket and continue to complete your order. Only when the order is sent to us do we check it out of your account on the web site.
You can also create an order without creating an account but if you elect to send the order and have not logged in you will be asked to log in or create an account
if you do not already have one. If you create an account at this point the items you have selected will be transfered to you new account number and the will be sent to us. If you create an order and leave the site without having logged in all of the items you selected will be lost.
We do not ask for credit card details as there may be occasions when we cannot deliver all of the items on the order you have placed. If you are a new customer we may ask for trade references. When the order is ready to be dispatched we will contact you to take payment for the order, We will then ask for credit card details. These details are not kept by us.
If you already have an account with us please log in to it using the username and password combination you selected when you registered.
Creating an order
There are several ways to create a list of items to view.
You can select a category, or sub category from the blue dropdown menu, or you can enter a search term in the 'Search' box and select the type of search from the drop down menu to the left of the search box. This drop down contains 'Title', 'Author', 'Publisher', 'Bar code', and 'ISBN'. If you do not select one of these options then all options will be searched. When you are ready just hit the 'GO' button or hit return. Any of these
options will present a list of items that fit the criterea chosen. You can also click on the 'New stock' button at the top of the page, this will present a list of stock that has been added in the last 30 days.
All stock that fits that category will be displayed on one or more pages. From here you can either input the number of copies you would like and add it to the order or you can click on the picture for more details on the item. A new page will be displayed from which you can also change the number of copies required and add to the order. The system then checks that the item is not already in the order and if not it adds it, then the current shopping basket is displayed. You can see the current total of your order just just below the search boxes and on the basket display page just above the 'submit order' button.
If the value of the order is below or minimum of £60 the current total will display in red. It is possible to send an order for less than the 'mimimum' but in this case we would contact you and explain that if you want the order as it stands then there would be an additional delivery charge added to the order depending on the destination and the prevailing carriage charges at the time.
When you are ready to send the order just click on the 'View Basket' button to take you to the shopping basket, if you are not already
on that page, then click the 'Submit Order' button.
As mentioned earlier, if you are not already logged in you will be asked to log in
now, or if you do not yet have an account you will be asked to create one. When this is done your order will be sent.
